The Good, the Bad & the Fugly

What I learned

The importance of lighting & the quality of light used on a subject! Despite lighting on a smaller scale for this project, the same techniques and methods used to light regularly sized persons were used. Unique circumstances allowed me to make mistakes such as not taking into account the reflections cast onto the subjects

Process & Methods

I had 2 goals with this project. Practice chroma keying & finish this project within a time limit of 5 hours in order to practice creating an efficient work flow under time constraints. The most difficult step in this was establishing a methodology that would work given the limited amount of time. I would not be able to create anything too elaborate that would push me into overtime but instead I had to emphasize what I knew I was confident & capable in. In this case, creating a general story structure and a parallel storyboard was relatively smooth. But once that was taken care of, the production of the still photos brought about a unique obstacle.

Spring 2020

Saloon Snafu

What I learned

This production taught me the just how much work can go into the production design of a project. Not only in the thinking of ideas but in the acquisition and execution of said ideas.

Special circumstances had the shooting day for this project scheduled right between two other productions using the same space, so this was a great opportunity for me to learn how to plan, budget, and schedule our very limited time, maximizing our potential.

Process & Methods

Given the parameters of a sticking to a semi-flexible script, the design and overall presentation would be crucial in filling in the blanks of the story. After exhausting possible locations, we deemed it best to build our own set, a perfect opportunity to exercise the creativity and ingenuity of not only me but my fellow artists and creators.

The Brick Life

What I learned

I learned to visualize and exercise my creativity. Completing this conceptual project taught me to no longer inhibit my imagination and take action on my ideas, executing them to the best of my ability.

Process & Methods

Junior year of highschool, I was assigned to create a story by meshing together a sequence of still photographs. I had made the decision to procrastinate. Definitely not the best decision I’ve made considering how much better this project could have turned out if I had taken some time to plan things out.
